The organizers of the music festival Axe Ceremonia utilized information about the deaths of Berens and Miguel Ángel. Deputy Carlos Eduardo Gutiérrez Mansilla submitted a proposal to the Mexican Congress to investigate the possible involvement of Grupo Eco in the deaths of Miguel Ángel Rojas Hernández and Citlali Berens Gileas Rivera and Alberto Klavijo, which occurred on April 5, as a result of decorative installation at the festival.
Many sources, as well as witnesses, assert that the event organizers intentionally concealed the deaths of the people in the first several hours, which hindered the call to the respective authorities to raise concerns and began to investigate the respective incidents.
Diego Jiménez Labora closed his Instagram after the tragedy, but three days later, he returned with a statement, where he expressed his regret about what had happened and stated about cooperation with the authorities and readiness to assist families of the deceased.
Diego Jiménez Labora, the founder of the Axe Ceremonia festival, received a temporary ban regarding his rights as a host after an application was submitted for a grant. He submitted the request on April 22, 2025, at the same time when the General Prosecutor of Mexico communicated about the investigation of four companies after the deaths of two journalists at the festival. Grupo Eco was also given 48 hours to provide information on the given issue.
According to his profile on LinkedIn, Diego Jiménez Labora is the founder of Grupo Eco, responsible for organizing Axe Ceremonia.
